All external walls completed with one coat of render

Jodie's four weeks of holiday between jobs have really paid off and we have now managed to finalise all the external straw bale walls with one coat of render, both on the inside and outside. This was our aim, and we are very happy that we have managed to complete it before Jodie heads back to work.

The last part of the wall now looks like this:

In addition we have also managed to complete two coats of render in the workshop. The reason we have done this now is that we need to build up a good workbench so that Geir can try to build some doors for our house. We are not sure how this will go yet, but it should be worth a try.

The next step is putting in the windows in the house (something Geir actually started today) and we will come back with some pictures and how we did it in the next entry.

In the meantime, you can enjoy are latest to videos, courtesy of Youtube.com

First one showing the outside walls of the house as per 11th of Feb 2007. As you can see, all the external straw bale walls are now completed with one coat of render.

And we have also made a little movie of the inside of the house, again as per 11th of Feb 2007. Since making the movie we have started putting in the windows, but more about that in our next entry.

OK, hope everything is well with everyone, and congratulations to Tvangstenkerne with their good performance in the latest quiz !!!
